PrideAmerica is a nation-wide program we have launched to elevate America's workforce to the full scope of its potential, promoting targeted workforce education based on solid benchmarks for learning.
Pride America, a program of CallSource®, is intent on creating a competitive U.S. workforce, starting with those that defend our freedom at the very basic level; our nation's heroes---our veterans.
The transition back into civilian life can be challenging for service men and women. As our veterans seek to establish new civilian careers, many find themselves behind their peers in terms of employment experience and training. The unemployment rate among the nation's 2.5 million service-disabled men and women is 15.8%; three times that of the general population. To be unable to find work after their time in the armed forces is a horrific disservice to our heroes, who put their lives on the line for their country.
The Multi-Family Housing Industry (MFH) provides a promising career path to ensure that these selfless men and women to enjoy the freedoms they fought to preserve. Rental housing accounts for 2% of the current Gross Domestic Product (GDP), and employment totals 700,000. With the addition of 1.8 million renter households over the next 10 years, the MFH industry offers countless opportunities for our nation's veterans in areas such as leasing consultants, maintenance technicians, and community managers as well as providing reduced-priced housing opportunities.
Veterans will also be a great benefit to MFH, adding discipline and consistency in an industry with an employee turnover rate of nearly 46%.
CallSource® is doing its part by employing veterans and vigorously seeking more, and we are currently working with the Hire A Hero Organization in addition to the National Apartment Association to connect veterans to the MFH industry. We at CallSource® hope this is a first steppingstone to nationwide effort to encourage all employers to hire heroes first. Following the President Obama's call to action, we must be the change we seek.
