Regaining Greatness

America is losing its place of leadership in education, innovation, and productivity. The world is evolving and we are not keeping up. I believe that our country can regain its greatness - and we, as organizations and as individuals, have an opportunity and a duty to make this happen.

It is with this goal in mind that the company I work for, CallSource, has launched PrideAmerica, to better prepare new entrants into the U.S. workforce and to provide American workers with ongoing education and training to continuously improve job performance and business results.

Our first initiative is to help America's heroes, the veterans of our armed forces, to find employment in civilian jobs. The matchup is compelling, as our veterans bring dedication and leadership to industries that often suffer from high turnover and lack of employee commitment. We owe our veterans a chance at employment opportunities they missed while serving our country.

In addition to hiring these fine men and women in our own company, CallSource has dedicated significant resources to Prideamerica.org. In the Multifamily Housing industry, we are working together with the National Apartment Association and their 165 affiliates, the Hire a Hero and Wounded Warriors organizations, and others.

We invite Multifamily Management Companies and REITs to interview quality candidates selected by the veterans' placement organizations. CallSource will pre-train these candidates, at no cost to the veterans or their employers, using our industry leading eLearning platform and content as part of a blended learning program.

We welcome others to join our cause. If you are involved in recruiting or hiring, check with PrideAmerica.org or any of our partners to see whether a veteran might be able to fill that position. We would like to involve educators, psychologists, and mentors to help our veterans transition into the civilian workforce and thrive there.

Please contact me at twolf@callsource.com if you would like to learn more or if you have suggestions that might help us achieve our goals.

Thank you.

Tim Wolf,
PrideAmerica.org Coordinator

You made some good points there. I did a search about the subject and barely got any specific details on other websites, but then great to be here, seriously, thanks.

Tax Benefits to Hiring Heroes

The Work Opportunity Tax Credit (WOTC) is a federal tax credit that offers an incentive for private sector businesses to hire individuals from nine targeted groups that have consistently faced significant barriers to employment, including veterans.

Depending on the employment scenario, private sector businesses may be eligible to reduce their federal income tax liability by as much as $2,400 per qualified employee. In addition to the federal WOTC program, 39 states have state-sponsored Enterprise Zone Programs.  A few of these state programs allow employers to claim credits for a portion of employee wages paid to veterans. Please consult with your tax advisor for more information.
